A few years ago, online travel websites such as Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia and the aptly-named Cheap Tickets convertible car rental were the best places for travelers to get the best deals on cheap airline tickets.  This may still be true, but there is now a trend towards airline websites offering convertible car rental even more affordable ticket prices in an attempt to discourage travelers from booking on the above mentioned travel sites.  Also, there are airlines that are penalizing their passengers if they do not book directly with them.
The latest airline to undertake this measure is Frontier Airlines; the carrier announced last Wednesday that passengers who book through a third-party source convertible car rental would have several privileges curtailed on top of the extra fees.  So assuming a passenger reserves his or her flight on Orbitz or Experia, he or she would not be able to choose seats until check-in, and won't get full credit on frequent flier miles; Frontier would only be crediting half of the miles as a penalty.
Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of Frontier's commercial flight department, said that this would be a good incentive for passengers, especially families, to book directly with them.  "There is no logical reason for our customers to want to book anywhere else, said Shurz. convertible car rental Frontier and other airlines claim to offer more than just cheaper tickets; updated seat maps and more specific information on in-flight perks are among the many benefits offered convertible car rental to passengers who book directly.
Frontier's move to penalize people who choose to book their flights through another source isn't the first action airlines have taken against online travel websites.  Two years ago, American Airlines pulled its fare information from Orbitz's website, and Expedia tried to circumvent things by making it more difficult to find an American fare on their flight search engine.  Typically, online travel agencies charge convertible car rental airlines about $10 to $25 per ticket sold, which is the main reason for the increasing number of airlines discouraging convertible car rental booking through outside sites or agencies.
