Firstly, don't judge me, I really enjoyed the Kennedy space centre because I genuinely found it really interesting. We were given 5 hours to walk around and visit the off-site exhibitions, which I thought would be ridiculously long, but we actually struggled to go around everything.
We started off in the observation dock looking at all the sites where the rockets blast off from, this wasn't too exciting for the simple fact that there was no rockets. The next bit was really cool though because there was a full-scale rocket on its side on display-it's weird how massive the rocket it, and how tiny the living mity lite travel trailers space is for the astronauts. I learnt loads in this area about the failed and successful missions, especially about the fire in Apollo 1 and the astronaut who got a promotion to go on that mission and subsequently died. Then we were taken through mity lite travel trailers the mission that non-humans were a part of to stop a disaster happening again...and then of course the Apollo11 mission with Neil, Buzz and Michael, and the failed Apollo 13 mission (in which I had to stop imagining Tom Hanks). Basically I learnt far too much that will struggle to stay in my brain, and then we went onto the fun parts of the site; like the simulation in which me and Steph were crying with laughter over how ridiculously fake it was, but how hard they tried to make it realistic. :D
After this incredibly long day, we headed towards St.Augustine where we were treated to a Ghost boat ride. I say treated, it wasn't exactly my thing, for one, I don't appreciate pathetic fake superstitions, and for another mity lite travel trailers thing, if it did seem to be real them I wouldn't be able to get to sleep at night....so it was never going to end well really. Luckily it wasn't the latter option, and there was a few old wives tales which didn't have much substance, and on the upside I got a nice peaceful boat ride around a very old historic town.
We hit the picturesque town of Savannah the following day, we did a trolley tour around to see all the squares, this was a little bit pointless because for one, they all look the same, and two, I couldn't hear what the guide was saying. Our guide did did show us the site where Forrest Gump waited for his bus though, and there isn't actually a bench there, that was a prop for the film.
Raleigh was just a stop of between Savannah and Washington, I was just really excited because it was next door to Durham We ate the equivalent of a horse at the all-you-can-eat mity lite travel trailers buffet, and then in true American style we exercised this of with a bowling game.
