Option number two drove the couple 15 or 35 minutes from The Strip (depending on if you asked Kevin

Vegas on TV . The thought kind of consumes us. Whether it's a story that takes place today or yesterday , is food based or Jersey based . Admittedly, some shows consume rail cruise america us less than others (cough, GTL, cough). Throw Travel Channel into the Vegas & TV mix and that's a trio we can't pass up.
Travel Channel recently debuted a show called Top Spot that plunks couples into a travel destination with a set budget to spend on one of three vacation packages. Last night, the show touched down in, you guessed it, Las Vegas.
Top Spot: Vegas featured Kevin and Jermika, a couple from Minnesota looking to bond, connect, and do what married couple do on vacation. Cue sly smiles, wide eyes, and sexy-time music. Armed with a $3,000 budget for a five-night vacation, the couple was on the hunt for the following rail cruise america specifics:
Other than the fact they had us at Vegas, we found ourselves sucked into the show's premise pretty quickly. Think House Hunters rail cruise america for vacationers -- both showcasing "contestants" trying to get the most bang for their buck that leaves viewers guessing at the final winner. Hooked.
The first option Travel Channel threw at Minnesota was five nights at the Cosmopolitan for $1,600. rail cruise america TC highlighted the resort's prime location , 13 signature restaurants, three pools, private cabanas, EA sports bar , and nightlife the couple can crawl back to their room from.
Speaking of room, the balcony overlooking the Bellagio fountains was of course a wow moment. Kevin was most excited about the in-room jacuzzi while Jermika found it a little small. Seemingly blown away, the hotel cost would eat up more than half the couple's budget, leaving less for shopping, gambling, and everything else married couples do that cost money.
Option number two drove the couple 15 or 35 minutes from The Strip (depending on if you asked Kevin or the Travel Channel) to Red Rock Resort . The show made a point to show that off Strip doesn't have to mean less spectacular, pitting the resort's Swarovski rail cruise america crystals rail cruise america against Cosmo's Chandelier Bar and its luxurious decor to the former's artsy focus. The cameras then made their way to the four-acre pool and private cabanas with lots and lots of $10 signature cocktails. rail cruise america Did we mention lots? Married couple must do drinks on vacation because these were a big hit.
Red Rock's room looked out on mountains rather than fountains but held a much bigger jacuzzi tub for two. A night at Cherry offered the nightlife and a $150 tasting menu at the Italian Terra Rosa provided the new foods. A horseback riding excursion added a unique spin, but not one we're sure Minnesota were into. Five nights at Red Rock would set the couple back $1,100.
Last up, the couple traveled downtown rail cruise america to El Cortez 's Cabana Suites "wing". While classy enough, the resort amenities lacked some key criteria: rail cruise america mainly a jacuzzi and pool. Would a shower more than big enough for two be enticing enough?
The downtown location obviously also did not meet center Strip preference, but a Dream Car rental option gave the couple a chance to cruise around in a classic convertible Cadillac. A hot ride that in Kevin's words made him feel like a "hot chick with his boobs out" the way everyone was looking at him. Throw in a trip to the Mob Museum to tie into the hotel's vintage theme and could El Cortez win over the couple? rail cruise america How about a $500 price tag?
Which trip did the couple ultimately decide on? The luxury hotel that met most of their criteria, but stretched their budget at the expense of that criteria rail cruise america (namely gambling, shopping, and dining)? The off Strip hotel that saves some money and allows for more private time in the oversized jacuzzi? Or, the downtown location rail cruise america that lacked tub time, but by far was most cost effective and made Kevin feel like a woman?
Which vacation would you choose? We hemmed. We hawed. We narrowed our guesses of the couple's choice down to two. Then one. In the end, Minnesota chose (SPOILER ALERT) to splurge on location and amenities at The Cosmopolitan. Meaning they may have to spend even more time doing that free thing married couples do on vacation. Argue. Badda-bing. That was too easy.
My usual Vegas budget for 4-5 nights with spouse is about $1000! It doesn't count the airfare, hotel or car, just the "in-town expenses" and gaming. Add maybe $400 for a hotel and it's still less than 1/2 their budget.
