Despite last week's depressing news that Wyndham Hotels would be slashing 4,000 jobs in the new year, the company has just opened two new hotels in New York-- The Wyndham Garden Hotel Midtown Convention Center and the Wyndham Garden Hotel Manhattan Chelsea West .
The Midtown hotel is located at 341 W. 36th Street, between 8th and 9th avenues and somewhat close to the city's Javits Convention Center. The hotel features furniture design from Michael Graves and boasts that it is the only hotel in Manhattan that has Clean Air allergy-friendly rooms. We also like the sound of the public spaces which have "power booths" with flat-screen televisions and signature Wyndham Smart Chairs, both wired for Internet access. The hotel has its own restaurant Greenhouse 36, the Eat. Refresh. Live cafe and a Beyond Room Service program. Introductory rates here start at $179 a night.
