The Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club has been undergoing a massive 50 million dollar renovation, and it shows. It's especially recommended for Hawaii family travel. It's adjacent to Poipu Beach, long travel sand rail frames the ideal beach for families with young children, and is an affordable upscale resort hotel.
The Kauai Marriott Resort in Lihue, Hawaii is an interesting resort from a design standpoint. It's very close to the small airport on Kauai - under 10 minutes' drive, in fact - but the landscaping is such that the airport noise is reduced to practically zero. The lush landscaping, of tall trees and thick native bushes, also surrounds the Kauai Marriott on three sides - the fourth being Kalapaki Bay - so that there is a sense of being in the wilderness. The proximity to the airport, as can be extrapolated, also means proximity to shops, stores, and services which aren't normally available to a more remote resort.
There has been (and at publication time, continues to be) a huge renovation at this Marriott. Kukui's, the large buffet restaurant, has been completed and looks open and breezy. The guest rooms have been renovated as well; the design of the large resort means that nearly all rooms and suites have views of the bay and enormous central pool area. Two wings, with 356 guest rooms and suites, indicate that this is a large resort. The new bedding is lovely; soft and luxurious, with reds representing the red ginger plants featured throughout the property. and other rich, warm Hawaiian colors.
This resort was originally a Westin, and some of the architectural design remains despite the renovation. Huge, wide marble columns are interspersed through the entire resort, from the lobby to the pool. It seems anachronistic with the intention of the resort design reflecting the lush Hawaiian forest. This can hardly be helped, though; to remove the massive marble columns would just be too expensive. It is the opinion of Luxury Travel that the Kauai Marriott long travel sand rail frames has done an excellent job with what it had to work with.
There are as many activities at the Kauai Marriott as can be expected at any resort on the most westward of the travel-oriented long travel sand rail frames island chain. The Jack Nicklaus-designed Kauai Lagoons Golf Club is very close, and the Kiele and Maile golf courses are just a little bit further away. Kalapaki Bay has kayak and surf board rentals right on the beach (although better surfing is on the ocean or Princeville area , rather than the bay).
There are snorkeling and scuba diving spots 5 minutes away in Poipu, and the gigantic lotus-flower shaped pool is tremendous fun. There is a separate children's pool ( being renovated long travel sand rail frames at publication time) with a slide and warmer water. The concierges are experts in Kauai activities, and very helpful regarding recommended versus not so recommended things to do.
The $50 million renovation of the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club represents a significant investment in this property by the Marriott family of hotels. long travel sand rail frames The resort is large and family-friendly; at Christmas, almost every guest at the Kauai Marriott was part of a family group. It's a recommended place to spend Marriott Rewards (category 6). A Hawaii family vacation would be fun, pampering, and memorable here.
