Unfortunately when we re not staying with couchsurfers there isn t much interaction with locals. Mos

The last morning in Faro we had planned to wake up an hour before leaving to get our things together and have breakfast, but we were so tired (and a little hungover) from the night before that we snoozed the alarm until we only had 25 minutes haha. So we made a dazed attempt to try to get everything together in time and ended up barely getting duck boat tours onto the train as it rolled out of the station! It helped that the station was right across the street haha. Once our hearts calmed down we ended up sleeping almost the whole way to Libon, which was only 3 hours away.
When we got off the train the first order of business was to get tickets purchased for Porto. As much as we were curious to see what else Portugal had to offer, we both were looking forward to France and the changes it would bring, so we decided to shorten Lisbon and Porto to one day each and spend more time in France before we head to Germany for Lady Gaga s concert on the 5th. After tickets were settled, we went somewhere to check if any couch requests were accepted, then had a pastry and coffee before heading out to our hostel. On the way we passed an interesting looking building (we think it was a concert hall) and saw some city tour buses that looked appealing.
duck boat tours At the hostel we couldn t check in until 2, so we dropped off our stuff and hurried out to the bus stop outside. We got there just as a city tour bus showed duck boat tours up, so we decided to get on to see as much of the city s sights duck boat tours as we could jam-pack into one day! It was pretty nice and as you can see from the amount of photos we took that we did see a lot, but it would have been nice to have spent less time in Faro instead so we could ve gone deeper than just a surface glimpse. There s really too many photos from the tour to explain what each thing is, so if you re curious just ask! (we should remember what most of it was at least haha)
We were able to time it pretty duck boat tours well so that we got back right at check-in time, then both got cleaned up and ready to go back out. The tour bus we had tickets for was good on 2 different routes, so we wanted to see the other side of the city we hadn t seen yet. While we were waiting for the bus we went to the supermarket inside the shopping center and bought some delicious deli sandwiches for lunch! Before long we hopped on the second tour bus and saw the east side of the city!
After the tour we wanted to walk back to some of the areas we d seen to take our time more. The first place we went was to a nice little park that was said to be one of the most romantic duck boat tours areas of the city. It was a nice little uphill walk there, then we took our time casually sauntering around duck boat tours the park. It was also next to one of the prettiest churches in the city.
By the time we were done it was sunset and we were ready to go back to the hostel. Once we got there we spent the rest of the evening writing duck boat tours and sending duck boat tours couch requests (obviously not very successfully though we ve still been at hostels and are behind on the blog =p). It was a pretty cool hostel with lots of hand drawn pictures done with sharpies on various walls.
The next morning we woke up in time for breakfast and were able to take our time, before walking back to the train station and riding to Porto. It was a nice ride that didn t take too long after 3 and a half hours we had arrived! (Angeleah likes that if you look hard you can see her turtle duck boat tours phone case, Franklin , in the reflection haha)
Since we planned to only be in Porto for a day we first tried to buy a train ticket to San Sebastian, Spain. After waiting 30 minutes for the ticket vendor to return from lunch we were disappointed to find out it was booked for the next 3 days and we would have to take a long bus ride. Instead of walking to the bus station that we didn t know of we hired a taxi, who seemed to know where it was. However, once he dropped us off we found out that we had to go to another bus station that had international buses!! Aye carumba! haha The woman at the first bus station told us to take the subway, so eventually we made it to the station we needed to buy tickets at. The only way to get to San Sebastian duck boat tours from Porto was to go through Madrid, so the tickets were kinda expensive and it also meant the ride was going to be 20 hours long! We told him we d think about it and went to weigh other destinations and possibilities with wifi. On the way to where he told us to get wifi we saw the music hall and a big monument in a park.
Once we had wifi we found a cheap but nice hotel and looked at our options. We ended up not really finding any alternatives, plus we really wanted duck boat tours to see San Sebastian, so we went back and bought the bus tickets we were offered. Now that we had all that craziness out of the way we could finally see the city!! haha We didn t really know what we should see, so we decided just to wander around until something found us =p Really soon after we started walking we found a cool church and knew we were walking in the right direction.
When we got to a space between buildings we saw a big castle-looking building overlooking the river and part of the city. When we got closer it turned out to be the city s most famous Cathedral duck boat tours Se. It had tons of great views. Afterwards we walked through a lot of little alleyways that winded down from the cathedral, kinda reminded us of Edinburgh.
The next things we saw were an interesting little park near a wedge shaped church (as well as a park under construction), a terraced private grove, and a good view of the river that we walked down to.
After walking all along the river and enjoying the beautiful bridge we walked back uphill to our hotel. In Lisbon and Faro we had heard we needed to try sandwiches called Francesinhas, so we asked the receptionist where to go and he gave us directions to a very popular restaurant duck boat tours nearby. There was a short wait, then we were seated right next to the crab tank (one of em stared at me all night it was kinda creepy haha). When our sandwiches were delivered we could see what all the fuss was about!! =] After being thoroughly duck boat tours satisfied with our meal we walked back to the hotel and unwound for the night. duck boat tours (in the picture with Angeleah and the sandwiches duck boat tours I just thought I should mention: the disappointed looking man in the background did not get a Francesinhas haha)
The next morning we woke up early enough for continental breakfast at our hotel, which was particularly delicious, then walked to the bus station nearby. The bus was traveling all day to Madrid, so we stayed busy watching Spider-man 3 (now I want to see the new one again!!) and Toy Story, duck boat tours as well as reading Harry Potter duck boat tours 4. It was a bit surprising duck boat tours when the police got on the bus to check passports at the border we didn t think anyone cared!! haha When we arrived duck boat tours in Madrid late at night we had to transfer busses to San Sebastian, but had enough time to walk around the nearby area and get a snack. It was hard to get a sense for the city at nighttime (and we weren t near the city center), but it seemed pretty busy and active. Before too long we had to head back to the station and got on the full bus to San Sebastian!
We re sorry this is so far behind when we have bad Internet it takes ages to upload all these pictures. This post took place about from the 20th to the 23rd, so still to come is San Sebastian, Marseille, and Nice, then tomorrow we re going to Zurich, Switzerland! Hope everyone s still enjoying reading we love and miss our family and friends, so leave us a reply and tell us what s going on in your lives!
Hi you two, A note from Auntie Jane .I m at work so need to be brief. We are having so much fun following you, so I can only imagine the fun you re having!!! Keep on keepin on Have a- blast WE LOVE you! I ll keep the lights on at Bozarth for you!!!!
duck boat tours Nothin really new here. Finally just finished my AA at the Falls after summer quarter. Busy with work, duh. Went to Washington DC for a few days as you saw on Instragram! I can understand the stressful part of traveling duck boat tours now lol. Certainly not as intimidating as being in a foreign country though!
Congratulations on graduating! That s sweet I m so proud of you! Good job! I miss you! We should totally set up a Skype date and time that would be so cool to see all you together! If we do you have to get Cody and Kendyl also cause they don t have anyway of skyping me! Yes I saw the trip to D.C. How was it though? Who d you go with? And was it just like a celebration trip or what? Oh but that sandwich was delicious! But yeah I would think the recipe would be ridiculous! There is like 3 different meats in it and maybe 4 depending on what type you want. But yeah traveling can get pretty stressful and I just want to sit on the couch all day or bed (depending where we are) and be lazy and escape the travels for a little. But then I fell silly cause I m in a sweet city that needs to be explored! Well thanks for writing! I miss love you! Let me know if we can do that Skype date cause that would sweet!
I would love to hear about your interactions with locals or other travelers. duck boat tours More commentary on what you think about the cultures you re experiencing. I m glad you talk about and show the food. I would think getting to try all that different food would be awesome!
Unfortunately when we re not staying with couchsurfers there isn t much interaction with locals. Most locals we meet are in the service industry, otherwise with strangers it s just a hello or a smile (not speaking their language makes it hard as well). We ll try to add more about the culture too, glad you re reading!
