Had waiting for me when I got home, a survey from Fox. So, once again, I detailed our experience and
We reserved a large SUV for 2 adults and 3 kids, traveling across the country, for 10 days. Two days prior to our pickup date, Fox SFO called to tell us it wasn't available and offered us two small vehicles vacation rentals copper mountain colorado to travel with for the duration of our family vacation. This was ridiculous and unacceptable so we were then promised a minivan. I called vacation rentals copper mountain colorado the next day to check on the reservation, and still the large SUV was not available, and again, we were promised a mini-van. Several times I verified with them that we would have a minivan. the next day, my husband took the subway into SFO (we used the muni pass during vacation rentals copper mountain colorado our stay in the city) to pick up our car, while me and my son's sat in the lobby of the hotel we had checked out of. He got to Fox, SFO, and neither the SUV nor the minivan were available. Since I spoke to the gentleman the day before, I called and spoke to the manager. He tried telling me his "notes" said we agreed to a small vehicle, and we had not. I spent a frantic hour on the internet in the hotel lobby trying to locate a vehicle large enough from another company, but everyone was sold out. Reluctantly we had to accept vacation rentals copper mountain colorado a vehicle from SFO Fox that was too small for our party in order to make it to the next leg of our vacation as we had nonrefundable reservations at two hotels for the next two nights. We asked, several times, if they could locate us another vehicle from a different location, and our request was acknowledged by telling us they would have a larger vehicle for us in a few days in SFO, never acknowledging that we would be several hundred vacation rentals copper mountain colorado miles away at that time. Multiple times, we called the customer service number on the Fox web site, only to negotiate through the recorded message and be cut off to a dial tone. The day of our contract, we sent 2-3 emails to customer service regarding this experience and provided our phone numbers, but never received ANY acknowledgement of our attempts to contact Fox.
After two full days of traveling uncomfortably in this smaller vehicle south of San Francisco, we contacted the Fox rental co associated with Los Angelos airport and they said they could switch our vehicle. We finally ended up with a large SUV that fit our party for the rest of our vacation, however that vehicle that had brakes that were worn out and pulsated whenever you used them, tires that were very worn, and 57,000 miles on the SUV. As we were headed up to the San Bernardino mountains, vacation rentals copper mountain colorado the brake and tire issue were concerns. Although the customer service at Los Angelos airport was much better, the vehicle was substandard. The customer service at SFO was the worst I have ever experienced. We were basically told two separate lies by the manager trying to tell us that we were accepting of the vehicle they were offering. This would never have happened, vacation rentals copper mountain colorado as it was physically very difficult to consider having vacation rentals copper mountain colorado to "Stuff" us all into a smaller vehicle along with all our luggage. As it was, if we had had one more piece of luggage, would could not fit it all along with our group.
I'm sure there are many people that had just fine experiences with them, but I will say that the Bellman at the hotel said he had seen this sort of experience frequently vacation rentals copper mountain colorado with Fox. He told me about a family with 3 small children broken down in front of their hotel, and they could not get anyone to exchange a car for them. The hotel finally had to have the vehicle towed to the airport to get it out of the way. Several other stories vacation rentals copper mountain colorado ensued, all negative.
Had waiting for me when I got home, a survey from Fox. So, once again, vacation rentals copper mountain colorado I detailed our experience and they asked if I wanted a service rep to call. I said yes, gave them the appropriate phone numbers, and have heard nothing in the form of an email or a phone call.
No, it did not deter from a wonderful vacation, outside of the kids arguing alot in the beginning from being all cramped up. Just got to be a joke amongst us. Every now and then, someone would blurt out, "I HATE this car!" and we all got tickled about it. I knew when I got home, I had an avenue to voice my opinion, and I am following up with that. I emailed the San. Fran. 'airport' and asked them to send it to the Fox rental car in the airport so that it would finally get directly to the people we dealt with. I did receive a response from the airport saying it was being forwarded and apologizing for the experience. I will give it the benefit of the doubt to say that the majority of our issue was with the San Francisco vacation rentals copper mountain colorado airport location. But will follow it up with the Los Angelos location was much more helpful, but the car was substandard.
I was hesitant to use Fox because of some horror stories I read here. But, it was SO MUCH cheaper, I held my breath and decided to give it a try. First of all, the guy at the call center was great - he offered me 10% off without me even asking. We had booked a standard SUV for pickup in Phoenix; drop off in Las Vegas (3 men, 2 women luggage). The guy at the counter in Phoenix suggested we upgrade to a minivan. vacation rentals copper mountain colorado I normally vacation rentals copper mountain colorado resist vacation rentals copper mountain colorado upsells, but in this case I was a little worried because two of the guys were pretty big. The guy at the counter gave us a great deal on the upgrade. The minivan was perfect even driving through mountainous areas in Sedona and up to the Grand Canyon. The car only had about 17,000 miles and great storage space. My only complaint is that they failed to tell me that the drop off in Vegas was "off airport". (Something I could have figured out if I read the material - I didn't but luckily called for location and found out!) We were shuttled to the airport - not a problem. I am wondering if some Fox locations are great - some not so great....
To follow up with my original post. Eventually I received follow-up emails (12 total) from Fox asking for our contract # and saying vacation rentals copper mountain colorado they were looking in to our experience and forwarding the complaint here and there within their company.
