By now I am sure you are aware Radisson is having an awesome promotion where if you stay one night at ANY Radisson hotel you will receive 50,000 bonus points . While this is capped at one stay, 50,000 bonus points is good enough for a free night at their top tier category hotels including international hotels. Some of their Radisson cheap last minute air travel Blu hotels in Europe can go for $500+/night.
So this past Sunday cheap last minute air travel I stayed at the Radisson Lexington Hotel in NYC. I was able to find a rate for $89.25+tax during their three-day sale last week ( mentioned in this prior post ). There is still time to take advantage of this promotion, but you must register first. As long as the site still says 50,000 points you are good, however, it could go down to 15,000 bonus points evenutally. And, if you are interested in the Radisson Lexington in NYC, there are still $99/night rates for the following nights: 12/20, 12/21, 12/22, 12/23 ($119), 12/25 ($119). The rates are constantly changing so they could be better or worse an hour from now, just keep on checking.
Alright back to the Radisson Lexington Hotel. I purely booked a room at this hotel to get the 50,000 bonus points. I had no need for another hotel room, especially one in NYC not too far from my apartment. Luckily though, the location was close to my errands for the day, so this mattress run was not an inconvenience. I was simply checking in and leaving. Although I did not utilize the room, I still wanted to experience this NYC hotel that was only charging $89/night! That is unheard of in NYC.
I checked in and was actually upgraded to a King bed. I guess my original reservation was for one double bed, and after seeing the size of the upgraded room I can t even imagine how small my original booked room would have been. The staff at the front desk along with the front desk manager were extremely friendly and helpful. cheap last minute air travel They told me all about the hotel and the amenities I did not have the heart to stop them as they were very genuine. The lobby was nicely done. It was by no means a modern hotel, but had that traditional charm full of character which I actually would prefer for a NYC hotel. Makes me think of the Park Plaza Hotel although no where near as nice!
I spent a few minutes and checked out the hotel room. It was small, but I guess that is NYC for you. The room was nice, had a flat screen TV, iPod clock radio dock, nice size desk, and a sleep number bed. The linens looked relatively new, and overall the room had a clean look to it. The bathroom was bright and had a window, but was incredibly small. You definitely could not fit more than one person in it.
The location of the hotel is in midtown on the East side. It is a business area so not much for a tourist right in the immediate area. However, in a 10-15 minute walk you can get to Times Square, the bottom of Central cheap last minute air travel Park, and Rockefeller Center. It is also only 2 blocks away from a subway line which can take you to Union Square, Soho, and the East Village. cheap last minute air travel Also, if you are visiting NYC for the shopping, Bloomingdales and 5th Avenue is less than a 10 minute walk.
We did $75 at Radisson San Diego-Rancho Bernardo on Sat night (2 rooms 1 each for my wife and I) at check-in, cheap last minute air travel they were so friendly genuine, and went through all the benefits and amenities (free cocktail free breakfast!).
i stayed here on sunday too (even though i live in new york, but decided to get away for a night- why not?) and booked for a petite room (to take advantage of the promo) but when i checked in, it was not petite at all- it was about 350-400 square feet and it also had TWO BATHROOMS!!! a vert pleasant surprise and lots of fun! thanks for the recommendation!
Did the Lexington two days ago and was upgraded to a 500 ft. full suite on 23rd floor with wrap around cheap last minute air travel patio with table and chairs. $99 ! Got parking package for extra $20 and was given 2nd day voucher for free. (The parking goes noon-to-noon). Next to Waldorp-Astoria, Marriott, Hyatt-Lex, and IC Belmont. Longwood Deli across street is open 24 hrs. and fabulous.
