MYRTLE BEACH -- Emergency management directors for Horry and Georgetown counties haven t received reports of weather-related problems as heavy rains and wind begin making their way into the Grand Strand
Strong discount auto rental thunderstorms are expected in the Myrtle Beach area today with a high temperature of 55 degrees, according to AccuWeather. Thunderstorms can bring gusty winds and even an isolated tornado. Tomorrow s forecast calls for sun, some clouds discount auto rental and 53 degrees.
The strongest Northwest discount auto rental storm of the season blew in early Monday on winds that gusted to more than 80 mph on the coast, knocking out power in places and creating blizzard-like conditions in the mountains.
Can someone on the appropriate city or county council issue some proclamation to ban umbrellas from the beach since these nylon shade makers become wind missiles when their occupant fail to sufficiently plant the holder in the ground? A flying discount auto rental umbrella nearly caused a serious injury when its pole came down point first.
Obviously, we fended very well, compared to our friends and neighbors up north, Beaufort County Emergency Management deputy director David Zeoli said Tuesday. But this is a time for our citizens to reflect on their plans to make sure if something happens, we are ready.
