AsianInNY Updates New York Film Festival ‘98: Flowers of Shanghai by Hou Hsiao-hsien July 31 6pm Ser
Only two days until the opening of the Olympics. Athletes, media professionals, politicians and celebrities have flown into London from all over the world to attend the greatest event on the planet. London is prepared to welcome these guests and prove why it's the most attractive city in the world and I'm ready to party and enjoy the vibe in the next 3 weeks as a local Londoner.
Schön! Magazine and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany partnered us train travel to host a pre-Olympic party on the 5 star luxury Cruise ship MS Deutschland in Canary Wharf. Ms Deutschland is the biggest vessel that has ever docked in Canary Wharf and as the Captain pointed out to us it only just fits in. The ship will be used as a floating hotel during the Olympic Games as well as an entertainment center for German athletes. We are lucky guests to attend the first party being thrown on board.
The evening is full of entertainment. It showcases German artists' work, music and a giant Dundu puppet us train travel animating the whole party with Olympic spirit. It kind of represents the taste of the German creative industry and reminds me so much of Berlin. Famous German sausages and beers were served all night by waitresses in traditional Bavarian dresses to enhance the overall German experience. Not to mention the fabulous guests in stylish outfits kept grabbing my attention. The party was a great success.
As the evening drew on it suddenly us train travel dawned on me how surreal my surroundings was. It was such a contrast to see these stylish people partying on a holiday cruise ship docked in London's financial center with huge glass buildings in the backdrop. It was a memorable experience to be at this amazing one-off us train travel location to celebrate Olympics Games with German crew. Thank you Schön! Magazine for inviting us onto Ms Deutshland!
