Just wondering if we are going to be able to enjoy the city "pub hop" if we stay @ Clontarf Castle..

Just wondering if we are going to be able to enjoy the city "pub hop" if we stay @ Clontarf Castle....looking for a relatively nice hotel to kick off our 1st few nights in Ireland....just 2 adults. Thanks for any input am open to suggestions for other favorite hotels...
My husband and I are having a two week holiday to Ireland in August, river cruise ratings and we are staying at Clontarf Castle the last two nights. Our first two nights are at Isaacs Hotel because it is center city. From what I understand, Clontarf is only about ten minutes from center city.
Clontarf Castle is actually ideal for a visit to Dublin. The hotel is very good quality and is just two minutes from the sea. There's a lovely promenade out to a place called Bull island, river cruise ratings which has a lovely strand with lovely long walks. The bus service into the centre is every 10-15 minutes and, as you said, takes around 10 minutes. Dublin is lucky that these places, which are relatively quiet, so close to the city centre. The bus service operates out of town up until around 11.20pm. Try visiting Howth as well, which is a fishing village about 7 or 8 miles further out the bay. I know this area well having lived in Clontarf for three years. There are some nice restaurants at Vernon Avenue, which is a nice 15-minute river cruise ratings walk on the way to Bull island. Also a great restaurant called 1014 (date of the battle of Clontarf) which is at the entrance to the wooden bridge that leads onto the island. The hotel will give you details of course. Sorry can also add, and I know this might be too late, but Isaacs wouldn't be a great hotel - and is not in great area - close to bus station. You could do better. Sorry to have to say this but the more you know, the better.
