On April 24th, I got to do something that I honestly thought I would never do. I traveled outside orlando florida hotels of the United States. orlando florida hotels For more than a few months, the Wifey and I had planned on taking a trip back to where India had gone just one year earlier, Frankfurt, Germany. To say I was nervous about the trip would be an understatement. But obviously I made it back to the U.S. safe and sound, or I wouldn't be writing this. So you already know that there's a happy ending. Yay you!!!
People say it all the time, and I'll say it here, too. It's always a good idea to get to the airport at least a few hours before you plane is scheduled to leave. You never know how long it's going to take to check your bags, get your tickets, or go through any of the lines.
Alright, orlando florida hotels so we're finally settled down after doing all of the 'airport' stuff, orlando florida hotels and we call India's Grannie and Sister. We had plenty of time, but then we learned that our connecting flight orlando florida hotels going to Newark was delayed. The guy at the counter gave us tickets to Washington D.C. instead, because if we went to Newark we definitely wouldn't make our flight. We walked to the gate to find we were the last to get on the plane.
The connecting flight was horrible. Not so much because of turbulence, but because it was a VERY small plane, with one row of seats on one side, and two rows of seats on the other. And the seats were cramped (even if we were skinny, they would have been horrible). The black Hitler stewardess was rude and impatient. Yes, we had an old black woman who obviously was Hitler's secret lovechild. The two or three hour ride went smoothly otherwise, and it surprised me that it went by so fast.
Okay, so we get to Washington, and I swear our connecting flight's terminal is two miles away, up a mountain, through a desert, and down the sparkling waterfall of doom. I stop for a minute to see where exactly our gate is, and when the plane takes off. I find out by asking an employee that we are not only SO far from our gate, but the plane was supposed to leave ten minutes earlier.
Luckily, we get on this huge bus looking shuttle vehicle on the outside of the airport to our gate. Not only are we not late for the plane, but it had just started to board. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, because over the next almost FOUR hours, we sat there. Just waiting. And waiting. After Liberty stayed up the entire flight earlier, while we were on the ground waiting, she fell asleep on the plane. We waited for so long that we had to get off the plane for about fifteen minutes so the crew could take a break. Of course, that woke Liberty up.
One of the times we could get off the plane to get food, I made sure to Facebook Sam (India's Sister) to let her know our new flight number, and that we would be late. I also quickly found out that we only had maybe 10 minutes to get food, and there was practically nothing near our gate. Anyway, got back to the plane, and took off shortly after.
Liberty was definitely orlando florida hotels up now, BUT with the way the flight was booked, me and India had our seats, and Liberty had a seat in between us. And the seats were spacious. Very nice flight. After they served orlando florida hotels dinner (which sucked), and drinks, they pretty much turned off all the lights on the plane, and then Liberty went back to sleep. I got maybe an hour or two of sleep over the entire 7+ hour flight, and India got a little less. Liberty woke up with about an hour to go, and we all had a light breakfast.
Around 20-30 minutes before we landed, Liberty threw up her yogurt 3 or 4 times all over India. And it smelled horrible. We just had to sit there because we were on the descent. India put on a fresh shirt, and changed Liberty after we landed, and then we were off to an extremely long walk in a huge airport. Then, after about twelve hours of running, hunger, orlando florida hotels a mean stewardess, and a small plane, we met up with Sam, Marcelo, Alicia, and Meryem (the latter two being our nieces).
Part Two of this tale will cover the actual orlando florida hotels Germany part of the vacation. I don't know how much I'll write about in Part Two, but I'll just go ahead and say that Germany was different, and both me AND Liberty had a few days of terribleness.
On an unrelated note, Liberty is in a 'Silly Faces' photo contest where she can win a free photo shoot from a local photographer. If you could please vote on her picture, orlando florida hotels that would be awesome. The contest ends on Sunday, July 8th. Here's the link if you would like to vote and help us out. Thank you!!
