Update .June 2012 .We now have exposed another scam at Dollar/Thrifty Car rental Yes Thrifty Car Rental is part of Dollar and engages in the same practices .Now they are tricking consumers into signing up for insurance after they tell they agent they already are covered.The scam is simple.After you tell the agent you don t want insurance they tell you to click a small pad. What consumers don t know is the acknowledge click signs them up for the very insurance they just told the agent they don t want . The agent then folds up the contract and hands the consumer the proposed bill without going over the charges.Consumers have no idea till they return the car.
