Tonight, the Denver-based producer/DJ Aaron Holstein (better known as VibeSquaD ) will begin his co-headlining expedition across North America with like-minded Australian bass freak Opiuo . But better than that is the fact that as the pair roll out their brands of twisted boom-bap from coast to coast, Beatport will offer up exclusive recordings of live material from each night in our Beatport Mixes store, giving you digital access to the walloping bass and space-age electronics of VibeSquaD s and Opiuo s live gigs right after they re performed. As well, VIP ticket buyers will receive a coupon to download five Mixes from the tour.
Before the tour kicks off in Boulder, Colorado, tonight, california wine tour Beatport News took the opportunity to have a quick chat with the man behind VibeSquaD to give us a better idea of what to expect from these live shows and recordings.
Yes, I was in a band from Colorado called Zilla that was an all-improvisational live electronic act, and we recorded every show. Then, each day we would listen to the previous night s recording and critique the playing in order to improve our approach.
The collaborative jam between Opiuo and myself will be unique each night. My own VibeSquaD sets will vary from night to night, but there will certainly be some of the same new material played each night.

Before landing on Planet Beatport, I served as the editor of XLR8R for a number of years, and in the past have written about music and art for Wired , Rolling Stone , GQ , NME , and a bunch of publications that you probably haven't heard of—primarily because they don't exist anymore. Oh, I also love cycling and photography , too.
