MAY 8…Continuing around the sound side of Lake Michigan and into the heart of the “Great Lake State”




MAY 8…Continuing around the sound side of Lake Michigan and into the heart of the "Great Lake State", we arrive in Holland for two nights. Many Dutch Descendants make up the population of this colorful town where millions of Tulips hampton inn niagra falls are grown each year. Get ready for a wonderful entertainment this evening. B D
MAY 9…We take a city tour featuring the tulip lane drive through town and a stop at the lovely Veldheer Tulip Fields, with row after row of multi-colored flowers in full bloom. Just next door is Delftware being manufactured and tulip bulbs for sale. Next, we'll visit the Dutch Market Platz with authentic food before reserved seating for the Volksparade pulling their children in wagons, and scrubbing the streets for all of their visitors! This evening we enjoy a wonderful dinner and night of entertainment. B D
MAY 10…A morning departure bound for Motor City and a visit to the Dearborn's Henry Ford Museum. A National Historic Landmark, it is a large indoor history museum named for its founder. It is based on his desire to preserve items of historical significance including John F. Kennedy's presidential limousine, Abraham Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre, Thomas Edison's hampton inn niagra falls laboratory, the Wright Brothers' bicycle shop, and the Rosa Parks bus. Our tour continues to Akron, Ohio for the night. Stay at the Quaker Square Inn built from a converted silo complex that once held more than 1.5 million grain bushels. MAY 11…Breakfast is sure to include Quaker Oats. We meet a local guide for a tour of the Ohio Amish Country. These folks lead a simple way of life with strong religious morals and without the use of modern gadgets such as electricity. The tour will include narration of the Amish way of life with stops at the one room school house, a bakery and cheese shop, and an opportunity to shop for some of the Amish crafts and visit Lehman's Hardware Store. An Amish lunch is included before continuing to West Virginia for the night. B L D
